THE federal Government has announced that the processing of Australian blood for plasma products will remain in Australia.
Plasma taken from Australian blood donors is currently processed by CSL Bioplasma in Victoria under the Plasma Products Agreement.

The federal government put forward a proposal for processing to be done through tender processes under the Australia-United States free trade agreement.

States rejected the plan and today Health Minister Tony Abbott announced in a statement that the processing will remain in Australia.

I believe that your doctor has a very good reason for that. What was your blood pressure when you last consulted with your doctor?
